Designed for a stress-free experience!
Our suites have been thoughtfully and carefully designed to minimise stress and maximise enjoyment and relaxation. A lot of planning and resourcing went into making them as close to a home environment as possible with plenty of luxury and soft furnishings, whilst ensuring they still meet the highest hygiene and safety standards. Stress is really bad for cats and can make them very poorly very quickly. Solid walls maximise privacy and remove the risk of your cat being stressed by seeing any of his or her neighbours – this is not a problem if your cat likes that but can be really stressful for those cats who don’t.
Orchard Suites & orchard Master suites
We’ve thought of everything! Find out more below.
Individually Controlled Heating
Built with state of the art insulated panels, suites remain warm in winter and cool in summer. Individually controlled thermostatic radiators in each suite keep the set temperature to within 0.1° and will keep your cat snug and warm when the temperature outside drops. Digital thermostats allow the temperature to be adjusted to cater for any guest, so whether you have a Sphynx who needs to maintain body temperature or an elderly cat who enjoys the warmth, we can cater for everyone’s needs.
Comfortable & Stylish
Each suite features a bedroom area with stylish cosy beds and a bright lounge/exercise area featuring an armchair, supersized cat tree and plenty of toys and enrichment. With low level window sills and a choice of resting place, your cat can relax, enjoy the view and watch the abundance of wildlife that passes through the orchard.
Largest Suites in Cornwall
Space was one of the main considerations for us when we designed the hotel. All suites far exceed the recommended guidelines for space and we are very proud to say we have the largest suites in Cornwall. Our Orchard Suites boast a massive 75 square foot of space (7 square metres) and our Orchard Master Suites are an unrivalled 115 square foot (10.5 square meters). That’s as big as and, in some cases, bigger than many household bedrooms. Many owners ask if they can stay too, but I’m afraid the facilities are exclusively reserved for our VIP (Very Important Pussycat) guests!
Specialist safety flooring and wall cladding provides an impervious, easy to clean and safe environment in all our suites. You’ll find that not only are our suites comfortable and welcoming, they are immaculately clean as well. We do not use anything that cannot be adequately cleaned between guests. All re-useable toys, soft furnishings and bedding are washed and disinfected between cats.
For older or arthritic guests we provide step access to the raised areas, alternative low-level beds with extra padding and lower scratch posts for comfort and safety. Heat pads are available where required in the winter and cool pads in the summer. We have some lovely water fountains which replicate a running tap for those cats who prefer to drink from a tap at home. We endeavour to accommodate your cat’s every need and encourage owners to discuss any specific requirements with us prior to their cat’s stay.
We’ve thought of everything! Find out more below.
The welfare and happiness of your cat is our number one priority. That’s why we only have 12 rooms. This allows us to offer the highest level of care for each of our guests. We obviously ensure their daily needs are met (food, water, clean litter etc) but that’s standard. What we offer is the highest level of care and interaction with our guests. We have time to play, time to cuddle, time to brush or just time for company and to offer a lap to sit on.
All suites have a choice of resting areas and hidey-holes and we can provide additional hidey-beds for shy cats. We have created as close to a home from home environment as possible for your cat to minimise their stress. They have a variety of toys, puzzle feeders, interactive toys and virtual pets to keep them stimulated and occupied. Toys are changed around during your cat’s stay to keep things interesting and engaging for them. We have high grade catnip which is a firm favourite with many guests. A multi-level, heavy-duty and extra large cat tree features in each room and there are two in our Master Suites. With all platforms made from sustainably sourced plywood and all soft furnishings easily removable for washing, these cat trees offer a great source of enjoyment for your cat. We have lost count of the number of guests who, following their stay, now have the same cat tree at home!
Each suite is equipped with a Brit Pet Eco Sieve Litter Tray System and for multiple guests additional Brit Pet trays are added to the suite. This litter system is incredibly environmentally friendly and waste is either incinerated or composted on site. We aim to be as eco-friendly as possible. Cats have no problem adapting to a litter tray, even if they don’t use one at home. Trays are checked and cleared of any solids throughout the day with all wet particles falling below the sieve keeping the tray clean and dry and free from odour.
We stock a variety of popular wet and dry foods that are included in our daily price. Meals are served on bone china platters with both wet and dry food being served at breakfast and dinner with a taste of ‘something special’ as well. This might be some fresh tuna, flaked white fish, salmon or prawns in the morning and some chopped chicken, chopped ham, chopped turkey or some ground beef in the evening. No gourmet menu costs here – this is all included in our daily rate. We prefer to feed what cats are used to at home to minimise any unnecessary stress that a change in routine may cause. It is also important to ensure they do not suffer from upset tummies which is why they have enough gourmet treats to make their stay special but not a massive platter of rich food they aren’t used to which could upset delicate tummies. Biscuit bowls are kept replenished throughout the day unless there are restrictions on what your cat can eat. Cats on breed specific, medical or raw diets are welcome to bring their own food.
Water bowls are kept refreshed and full daily and fountains are available on request.

"What an amazing place and a wonderful owner. Right from the start you can tell Ruth loves cats and her job above and beyond what you would normally expect. The facilities are super and spotlessly clean."
"Excellent place for your cats, beautiful rooms and spotlessly clean. Ruth the owner sent us daily updates on Gizmo and Sox. She looked after them so well, feel very confident to leave our cats in her capable hands, lovely lady..."
"I wish if I could give more than 5* to Ruth. She is such an amazing person, giving all of her attention to her guests. She was taking care for our little one, whom we couldn't take with us for our holiday, but I do believe she was in the best place and best hands. We were getting daily updates, videos even we had webcam access..."
"Best cattery so far. Constant attention. Properly fed. Plenty of space for him in a spotless room, and for a change no stomping around barking at us for two days on his return home. Happy cat ( yes he barks ) and happy owners."
"We were so nervous about leaving our little one for the first time but Ruth was so amazing and reassuring and made us feel completely comfortable when we went to see her.
We completely trusted her right from the start. It’s so clear she cares about all her visitors and gives them so much love and attention.
We got daily updates and photos and videos and we could see that Roxy was completely comfortable with Ruth and her environment and we wouldn’t take her anywhere else!"
"Just picked my 2 cats up Spot and Biffa after a stay in Kernow Cat Hotel. They are content and happy and had a great stay, it’s obvious that they have been well cared for. The added touch of what’s app messages, videos and photos of them during their time there definitely put my mind at rest. I would recommend Kernow Cat Hotel to anyone a 5 star service for both cats and owners😺 😺 😺 😺 😺 "
